Calibrate Your Digital Weighing Scale
- Start the calibration process by turning your machine on. Also, have an object with a definite weight or you can even use a measuring weight. This object is used to calibrate your weight accurately.
- Next, enter into the calibration mode of your weighing scale. You can enter into this mode by pressing the Cal or Mode button present on your machine. For some machines, you need to press the button a little longer to enter into the calibration mode. You will see that your machine entered the calibration mode if the screen turns to zero.
- Then, place the object or measuring weight on your weight scale. It should be placed exactly at the center of the scale and not on its edges. Make sure the object doesn’t wobble on the weighing scale. It is preferred that you use an object of 15 kg. After placing the object, make sure the objects weigh exactly as the measurement.
- Finally, exit from the calibration mode after making sure the weight object is exactly measured by your weighing scale. You can press the same button to exit from the calibration mode. Your machine will show End, Cal, or 0 to indicate the end of calibration. Then, your machine will automatically restart after this process. If it doesn’t restart automatically, manually restart your machine.
- That’s it! You’ve successfully calibrated your weighing scale. You can now measure your weight accurately.

If your digital weighing scale is exposed to environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and vibration, then the weighing scale may encounter an error. The other possible reason is the failure of the load sensor. The load sensor present in the weighing scale is responsible for calculating the weight. The load sensor may get drift or error because of the repeated compression and contraction it encounters every time it is used. Other factors include harsh usage, change in range of usage, different places of usage, and undesirable reading. If you encounter these errors, then it is a must that you should calibrate your weighing scale.
Even if you don’t encounter any error with your weighing scale, it is preferred that you calibrate it every few months. Because the change in the error of accuracy may be too low for you to notice so calibrate it every few months to ensure that you always get a correct reading.

But in this digital era, all the modern digital weighing scale has an autocalibration feature. With the autocalibration feature, you don’t need to do any work to improve accuracy.
